FLORIDA, Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu’s opened his remarks with a glowing appreciation for the importance of the friendship with President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.  Quote “I have to say that in addition to we’ve never had a friend, even close a friend as President Trump and the Whitehouse. I think he has been extraordinary in his friendship and support for Israel. His principled position and willingness cut through to the essence of things, and I don’t say that as a compliment.

I just mean it, people have heard me say it behind your back Mr. President.I think we have a partnership a relationship, I think if I can quote you, 2nd to none.

There was a general conception in the Middle East.

America can advance itself in the Middle East if it opens a lot of daylight between it and Israel. President Trump has done the exact opposite.

This has been a very productive meeting and I must say Thank you President Trump.

President Trump, began by saying, “PM Netanyahu has been a wartime prime minister.  I guess I am a wartime President in more places than just Israel if you think about it”.

President Trump said:   Israel was a big factor, we’re with you, and will continue to be with you, allot of good things are happening in the Middle East, We have Peace in the Middle East and we’re gonna try to keep it that way, I think we will be very successful in keeping it that way. You’ve been a great friend, and I’ve been a great friend to you and Israel.

It was my honor and the award I was given, really surprising and very much appreciated.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said “President Trump has broken so many conventions to the surprise of people, then they figure out oh, well, maybe he was right after all. “

So we decided to break a convention too, or create a new one, that is to award the Israel Prize which in 80 years we’ve never awarded it to a non Israeli, and we’re going to award it this year to President Trump.

He continued:  This was announced formally over lunch by our Minister of Education who is responsible for the Israel Prize. It’s going to be awarded to President Donald J. Trump whose tremendous contributions to Israel and the Jewish People.

Prime Minister Netanyahu extended an invitation for the presentation of the award on Israel’s Independence Day. “I have to say this reflects the overwhelming sentiment that Israelis across the spectrum to help Israel and our common battle against terrorists that want to destroy us. That’s an expression of thanks and appreciation.
